Philodendrons are common plants amongst the rare plant crowd. Philodendron is a Latin word that means “fond of trees”. The name describes the habitat of this kind as they like to grow around trees. Native to Southern and South American, and West Indian countries, there are around 500 different species of Philodendrons.
Monsteras are highly loved rare plants. They resemble Philodendrons and are often sold interchangeably. The main difference between Philodendrons and Monsteras is that Monsteras grow as vines while Philodendrons can be vines, shrubs, or trees.
Taking care of both of them is easy and are good for beginner-level plant parent. They grow well in fluorescent and low-light areas. These plants are not pet-friendly so care must be taken if your fur babies are very curious about your plants.
